We’ve spent the last two years framing AI governance as a race between two models: the EU’s compliance first “fortress” approach, and Singapore’s experimentation driven “sandbox” model.

But as we hit the mid-point of 2026, both models are running into a wall, albeit at different places: by design (EU), or via implementation (Singapore).

Why is it that the conversation about Artificial Intelligence seems to be dominated by Harvard graduates, tech geeks, executives and investors? Being what some call “the future,” shouldn’t we all give input?

How does a busy mom with a part-time job feel about AI? Or the small business owner who is passionate about connecting to people in their neighbourhood? Or the creative artist, school teacher, psychotherapist?

The truth is that there is a lot of mystery surrounding AI.

And a whole lot of fear.

In a world that is in a constant state of flux, it's not surprising that business owners - specially the renaissance types, with multi-passions and various interests - face a new type of challenge. Businesses are no longer single-dimensional entities.
